There was once, when things were perfect.
To every snapshot, held happiness.
To every moment, had love.
He caught every falling star and held them close.
To save them in his makeshift bag.
He would sit there and count them.
For each one, he wrote down their dreams.
He could carry them everywhere he went.
Protecting it from rain and snow.
He held them close to his heart.
He dared not to show them to anyone.
Hidden and away from sight.
He said he's promising her the world,
He said he's promising her perfection,
but she didn't believe him.
She wasn't patient.
He finally finds the strength
So he hands over his makeshift bag.
Even before she looks inside,
She is disgusted by the bag and throws it to the floor.
What she didn't realize was,
inside were a million shining stars.
A million promises,
all neatly stacked with his love.
The promises that he would love her forever.
The promises that he would hold her hand always.
Too bad she walked away before she realized,
the reason it took him so long to give to it her was
because he was trying to save up for a prettier bag.
She walked away from it all.
The million stars,
The million promises,
The million years of happiness.
All because she wasn't happy with the package.
